The Who as The High Numbers Railway Hotel London 1964

Some of the only existing footage of the original London mod scene. It really doesn't get much better than this. First, they were known as The Detours then, The Who. Enter manager Pete Meaden and they became The High Numbers. Exit Meaden as manager and they reverted back to using The Who. 1964 Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp filmed the boys at London's Railway Hotel covering "Ooh Poo Pah Doo" and "Gotta Dance To Keep From Crying". You can get this footage on the "Amazing Journey" DVD. Hopefully, the rest of this show will surface. The audio has already been released on bootlegs. The also did "Green Onions", "Young Man Blues", "You Really Got Me" instro, "Smokestack Lightning, "Here 'Tis" and more. Ah, the days when people wore clothes that fit properly...

Thanks for posting this. I was an original mod circa '63 and this clip really brought back some memories. Cheers, Mick
